  • Manufacturer's written assembly instructions

All bids shall contain the following:

  • Complete product specifications
  • Descriptive product literature
  • Color Charts
  • Complete list of equipment to be furnished
  • Layout drawing of proposed system or systems, including room dimensions, system dimensions, system height, system weights, and track locations.

Construction
Rails

Rail profile shall be low profile design, with an overall height not exceeding 1.5"(plus and necessary leveling). Track construction shall consist of the following components: 4-3/4" wide 11ga. Track support plate: a 2 _" x 1- 1/8" 11ga. Seismic restraint "C" channel: & 7/8" square solid AISI 1045 wheel rail. These three components shall be combination plug welded to form one structural track weldment assembly. The underside of this weldment shall have weld nuts for housing one pair of integral leveling glides straddling and supporting the track every 6" maximum on center. Each leveler shall be rated at 60,000-psi compression and 30,000 psi shear, and the levelers shall be accessible from the top of the track/deck. This provides the ability to re-level the track system at any time during the system's life without the need to disturb the carriages, shelving, or media above.

Systems utilizing grouted tracks will not be considered to have met this specification.
Levelness of Tracks & Trails: 3/32" maximum variation from true level within any module: 1/16" maximum variation between adjacent track rails: 1/32 maximum variation in 10' of rail length along any rail. All track joints shall be double lap and single bevel jointed to prevent vertical and horizontal shifting, and to allow for smooth carriage wheel transitions at joint locations. All rails shall be securely anchored to the floor via 11ga. minimum brackets at each track joint and at track ends. Track anchor brackets shall be attached to the floor with _" x 1-5/8" concrete expansion bolts (Hilti-type).

Flooring

An elevated deck shall be included for the entire area of the proposed system. Deck panels are to be modular, provided in 2' section running along the rail length are to be fabricated of a minimum 7/8" thick /7 ply plywood with integrated leveling glides a maximum of 16" on center. A handicap accessible ramp of the same material as the deck shall be provided at the entrance side of the system and shall not extend past the front of the end panels. The elevated deck and ramp(s) are to be covered with the manufacture's standard carpet. Colors available are tan and gray and must be selected by the end user. We also offer an unfinished ramp.

Carriage

All carriages shall be capable of supporting 1,000lbs. per carriage foot and shall be modular in design to facilitate system reconfiguration. Shelving uprights are fastened directly to 11ga. support/wheel channels with a maximum span between wheel channels of 72-5/8". Support/wheel channels are attached to 4-3/16" x 6-7/64" multi-formed side members. All load bearing side members are 14ga. minimum. Rubber bumpers are provided at the ends of each mobile range to prevent metal-to-metal contact and to prevent finger pinch points between ranges. Stationary ranges shall be identical in construction to mobile ranges, but without drive components: they shall be attached to the tracks.

Wheels

All wheels shall be a minimum of 4-5/8" diameter with two permanently sealed, shielded and lubricated bearings. All wheels are to be machined from AISI 1141 fine grade steel, cast wheels shall not be considered to have met this specification. All wheels are dual flanged, load bearing guide wheels. All wheels on one side of movable carriages are to be driven by _" solid stress proof shafts so that each carriage will have one wheel driving at each track location. Assembled drive shafts run full carriage length with shaft joints connected via 1 Ð1/2" diameter x 2" long keyed couplings. Couplings are secured with 5/16" diameter set screws and _" square keys. All connections shall be free of play and looseness.

End Panels

The drive end of each range shall have a 3" deep 18ga. end filler panel that is the full height & width of the shelving. The end filler panel shall fully enclose all drive-related components and provide for the attachment of the end panel without the use of visible fasteners. The end panels are all steel and fabricated of 18ga. CRS, particleboard will not be considered.

Safety

An optional anti-movement lock can be provided on each range, which shall provide positive locking of the drive handle, thus preventing carriage movement. Operational handle for the lock shall be provided on both sides of the end filler panel and shall give visual indication as to the locked status of the range. All stationary ranges shall be attached to the track rails to prevent tipping. All mobile ranges shall utilize 11ga. seismic anti-tip brackets at each range end. These brackets shall interact with the 'C' channel of the structural track weldment and prevent tipping of mobile ranges.

Finish

All formed steel parts shall be prepared for painting by a multi-stage cleaning & phosphating process providing a bonding and rust-resistant undercoat. All parts shall be finished with one or more coats of industrial quality baked enamel of a medium gloss, applied electrostatically. All carriage assemblies, shelving and shelving accessories shall be painted a matching color as selected by the customer from a range of available standard colors.
